Signal Tree
Signal Trees and Prayer Trees
Some people get these confused and think they are the same thing. They are not and I have seen both.
Signal Trees are like a sign. Like we have on are roadways, telling us if there is drink up ahead or witch way to go. The trees were formed by Native Americans and as I understand it they did several along the Trail of Tears so they could find there way back home. I have seen several of these trees and I still get all giddy and child like when I come across one. And I usually have my camera with me...a lesson I learned, never go without the camera.
Prayer Trees are something very different. They are a spiritual center of sorts. Ceremonies took place around them and they are considered sacred. I have had the good fortune of seeing two of these wonderful trees. One is on a friends property and is enormous and the other I was led to while camping. Surrounding these trees I have noticed trees that are split, they have two trunks. And not just one or two but five or more.
I am sorry that there is not more on these wonderful trees. But as I study and can share I will. Yes there is much more that I know but for security of the tree and the magic that surrounds them I must keep this a secret for now. If you wish to read my Spirit journey to the prayer tree check out my August 2009 blog.
There are many web sights out there with information and photos on Signal Trees.
